Within Your Body

Let me linger in your body
exposed upon your heartbeat.
Let me stand in the place where
your scent originates.
And, I shall feel the way you move
that I have watched
and have wondered at your grace.

Do you not feel these walls of flesh
set up keep us separate,
to keep this hard world out,
to keep us apart?

Oh, I wish for some door
through which to enter
and stare ardent
with your eyes at your flesh
and wonder at the feel of your skin
against my consciousness!
