Never This Alive

Gentle broke, in unknown constants
the sphere above the mountain
come to see me, I said to my self.

Crested with ice, debris of ancient storms,
reflecting the light of the crystalline back.
All nature is full of self knowing.

Stillness never moves, until it is gone,
Mountains exhale.
Expectation gone one more day

Dawns were never this alive.

Not Alone

Kept the cold in my bones
let you melt me in my home
waited for the winter to return
in this world I'm not alone, alone, alone.

Drank the water, learned the song
washed in the river til the pain was gone
waited for the winter to return
in this world I'm not alone, alone, alone

Geometry of Heaven

Let us talk of places we'll never go
define the Geometry of Heaven
and in the space of a shape we'll see
the light that never was where
our feet are stuck on the ground.

This is not a dream, just an intangible thing.
Like being heart-to-heart never ring-to-ring.

Hold Them Still

Higher then I've ever been
on everything you've given
and I'm wondering how I'm
ever going to get down
(not that I'd want to)

And, you float and flit
around my head, in words
and memories I can't deny
or hold them all still

This is a dream I'm living
with you in this house
I'm complete.

I've never worn

Don't wanna live like a blue bird
always looking to change color
just want to fly like a sparrow
where all the clouds are just
mountains to climb.

Won't you take me home tonight?
I just wanna know somewhere to belong.
It has to be a home I don't know
because of all the ones I've found
I've never fit in.

Nothing like the history I've  told
won't you say, "Come home"?

This might be the change of clothes
to give me a different color.
Maybe all the colors of the rainbow
I've never worn.

Hold Fast

Untold devils lurking in shadows
things you do not know you're fighting.
I'm sorry to say this is the way life will be.

And, there will be no balm for some suffering
but the ice of time waiting to kill.

We will be the beautiful ones.
Granite statues
after all the pressure
we're bound to harden.

Just the Same

Want to drink of only you,
but some fear reveals more
of me then anyone has ever seen.
You keep looking where others
give in to my protests.
And, I love you for all of that.
But, fear you just the same.

Math Predicting Rain

A math predicting rain
fell upon your heart.
Let you know the future
of all that pain.

It was a calculus
for precipitation.
Precognizant ciphering
of nerve impulses.

How to relate the drum
of hail on a roof-top.
The percussion of
secret love making.
